COMMUNITY OUTREACH MINISTRIES IN THE DIOCESE OF ALABAMA Parishes through the diocese are engaged in a wide variety of community ministries from the Interfaith Mission Service in Huntsville to the Chattanooga Valley Episcopal Services in Phoenix City. There are sixteen "Beans and Rice" parishes throughout the Diocese.

DIOCESE OF ALABAMA MISSION & OUTREACH GRANTS

PARISH-BASED OUTREACH GRANTS: The purpose of these grants is to encourage parishes to start new or expand existing outreach ministries that will become self-sustainable within three years. These grants are only for parish-based outreach and cannot be used for pass-through monies to other agencies or groups that do not directly involve parishes or parishioner.  The Department hopes that these grants will enable parishes to engage in new and creative ways of being Christ’s presence in Alabama. The deadline for submitting these grants is May 1.

GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS: Those engaged in mission as an individual, called by God to serve domestically or globally, may consider applying for the Mission Grant for Individuals.  These grants are designed for individuals of any age with a connection to the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama who are directly involved in sharing God’s love with people in need within the Diocese of Alabama, within the United States, or outside of the United States.  These grants support short-term, one-year work.  Grants may be submitted at any time throughout the year.  Applicants may re-apply.
