The Commission on Spirituality of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama and Metagem Institute present:
“Becoming Prayer: Incarnation Makes Mystics of Us All”
Rev. Dr. Vincent Pizzuto, Presenter
March 12, 2022 - Registration available soon.

“The universe is not merely a backdrop for the story of human salvation but is its object. Creation, incarnation, and deification are three inseparable moments in one continuous story of salvation. In other words, incarnation and deification are built in to the very plan of creation and bring it to its perfection. While the cross of the redeemer may well be the consequence of a fallen world, the singular catalyst for the incarnation is a love unrestrained and ‘hidden for ages in God who created all things’ (Eph 3:9).”
-Fr. Vincent Pizzuto, Contemplating Christ: The Gospels and the Interior Life, p. 37

Contemplative Knitting with Julies Cicoro from ChurchNext:
This course is a primer on starting a new contemplative prayer practice. Author and priest Julie Cicoro explains how connecting a creative passion, such as knitting, with a practice of contemplative prayer can be the secret to building a sustainable practice, deepening your relationship with God and serving others, all in one holy space carved out each day.
Julie's four video lectures include:
  • How It Started
  • Setting Up a Spiritual Knitting Practice
  • Staying on Track
  • Knitting and the Church Seasons
This course is ideal for anyone interested in connecting a contemplative prayer practice to a creative outlet.
Interested in taking this course? Reach out to Kathy at: kgraham@dioala.org to get connected with our ChurchNext membership. The courses work well using the Zoom platform to present in a small group setting. The course also contains a facilitator and participants guide.
